Washington — Biden's campaign warned that former President Donald Trump conviction in “hush money” case. it won't stop him from winning another term in the White House.

“There is still one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box. Convicted or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president,” campaign communications director Michael Tyler said in a announced on Thursday.

Trump became the first former US president to be convicted of a crime when a New York jury found he broke the law by falsifying business records to cover up a Payment of $130,000 on adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. He was found guilty of all 34 charges.

Biden's campaign said the verdict shows that “no one is above the law,” but also “doesn't change the fact that the American people are faced with a simple reality.”

“The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is waging an increasingly deranged campaign of revenge and retribution, vowing to be a dictator 'on day one' and calling for our Constitution to be 'terminated' so that he can take it back and maintain power,” the statement said. “A second Trump term means chaos, chipping away at Americans' liberties and fueling political violence, and the American people will reject him this November.”

President Biden has yet to comment on the verdict.

“We respect the rule of law and have no further comment,” Ian Sams, a spokesman for the White House counsel's office, said in a statement.
