Seinfeld’s Michael Richards Shares Prostate Cancer Diagnosis


Michael Richards talk about a private health battle.

The comedian, best known for playing Cosmo Kramer on the 1990s sitcom Seinfeldopened up about being diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer in 2018.

“I thought. Well, this is my time. I'm ready to go,” Richards said people in an interview published on May 23. “But then my son came to mind seconds later and I heard myself say, 'I have a 9-year-old boy and I wish I was there for him.' can I somehow have a little more life?'”

The father of two children Anthonywhich he shares with his wife Beth Skippand daughter sofia of his previous marriage to Cathleen Lyons— said he had his prostate removed to treat cancer at the recommendation of his doctor.

“I had to go to full surgery,” he said people. “If I hadn't, I probably would have been dead in about eight months.”
