The story of a show opening to lackluster reception and then being unceremoniously canceled is all too common. Five years later, the call to renew The society is still going strong, and no one has heard it more than the creator of the show, Christopher Keyser. Speaking with Variety , Keyser revealed that there have been, and are, active efforts to bring the show back and provide a satisfying conclusion to one of the greatest mysteries to grace television. Keyser revealed that he stays in touch with the show's writers and Mark Webbwith whom he created it, saying:

“I'm in constant conversations with a bunch of the writers and Marc Webb about how we can get this back in some way. We don't have an answer yet, and I wouldn't count on it, but I don't do that with every show that gets canceled. The public still want to talk about it. They still want answers to questions and then they come up with new questions. I don't know if the world will work in a way that aligns with us, but we'll keep trying for a while because it got under my skin too.”

After the renovation, the scripts were ready and the cast was happy to get back to work. When it became clear that there was no way to jump over the huge COVID hurdle that had paralyzed the world, the cast moved on to other projects. Keyser reveals that their efforts didn't end there and that they had been looking for an alternate means to bring the story to a conclusion, given the many questions fans had asked over the years. “He's also getting the excitement going with the audience coming up to us and constantly saying, 'Tell me what happened.' when will he come back It was especially poignant for us because we were closer than I think most shows are to being ready to go back,” he said. They were working on publishing a tell-all graphic novel, but again, something else interfered when the publisher went out of business.

Keyser didn't reveal the next path to bring the show back and provide answers, but thanked fans for sticking with it, saying, “Thank you for not letting the show go. Things only live for a certain period of time and that's as long as people remember them, if that's remembered, there's not much more than people doing something for an audience.
