Acne Studios Par Frédéric Malle Fragrance Collaboration 2024

Fashion

Chanel No5. Miss Dior Guilty Gucci. We're familiar with fashion houses having their own perfumes, but what about a fashion brand collaborating with a legendary perfume house to create something new together?

Scandinavian streetwear brand Acne Studios and Editions De Parfums Frédéric Malle, founded by famed perfumer, have just launched their first fragrance collaboration: Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle. The new eau de parfum is a light, clean scent with a subtly warmer drydown. The first spritz opens with a fresh blast of aldehydes – the notes used in fragrance to make them smell airy or soapy. The breezy feel also carries the delicate floral notes of rose, violet and sunny orange blossom. But after a few hours of wear, the base notes reveal a hint of vanilla, creamy sandalwood and peach that leave a sweeter, lingering scent.

The atmosphere is that of freshly laundered white sheets (in expensive detergent and bought by Bergdorf) or a gust of air conditioning in the lobby of a posh hotel. It's easy to imagine this perfume being worn by someone who's also wearing one of Acne Studios' asymmetrical, spray-on, see-through dresses: easy and fresh, with a hint of cool femininity.

Intended to unite the elegant complexity of Frédéric Malle's fragrances with the effortless edge of Acne Studios, the new fragrance is the brainchild of Malle and Acne Studios Creative Director Jonny Johansson, played by perfumer Suzy Le Helley . Also, a true blend of the brand's aesthetic, the bottle breaks with the fragrance line's typical wraparound black label with bold red type. In contrast, Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle has a lighter and brighter look, with the classic cylindrical bottle with a small white centered label and a painted baby pink base that gives the whole bottle a sunset glow. Consider your next spring fragrance you find.

Acne Studios Eau de Parfum by Frédéric Malle costs $295 for 50ml and $470 for 100ml and can be purchased now at fredericmalle.com and acnestudios.com.
