Captain America is one of the three pillars upon which the MCU is based. Often considered the First Avenger and born Steve Rogers, Captain America is the de facto leader of the Avengers and the moral center of the team. 4 'Captain America: The First Avenger' (2011)

Captain America's introduction to the MCU is about as big as a superhero movie can get. Set during World War II, Captain America: The First Avenger tells the origin story of Steve Rogers (Evans), a meek and sickly but hearty man who volunteers for an experimental procedure that uses the “super soldier serum” to transform his body into the pinnacle of human strength and endurance. Taking up the mantle of Captain America, Rogers becomes a soldier and comes into conflict with the dangerous Nazi criminal Johann Schmidt, also known as the Red Skull.Hugo Weaving).

The first avengers it is safe but not remarkable. It tells a familiar story, but it does so with confidence and, at least, a light-hearted approach. Evans does a lot of the heavy lifting here, keeping Rogers engaging and relatable while respecting the character's stoic demeanor. The supporting cast, especially a scene-stealing Weaving and the de facto First Lady of the MCU, Haley Atwell, adds to the entertainment value of the film. Despite this, Captain America: The First Avenger it remains too predictable for its own good, which only makes him disappear amidst the noise of the ever-expanding MCU. It's a nice little film, but compared to everything that came after, it can't help but seem forgettable.

3 “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (2021)

However, seeing Wilson finally in the role of Captain America feels deserved and cathartic. The third entry in the Captain America film trilogy is more of an unofficial Avengers movie than a conclusion to Rogers' journey to the big screen. Captain America: Civil War sees a breakup in Rogers and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) report on the Sokovia Accords, which aim to regulate the activities of the Avengers. Meanwhile, Barnes is framed for a terrorist attack by Helmut Zemo (Brühl), which sends Rogers, Wilson and a group of rogue superheroes on the run, pursued by Iron Man's faction.

In terms of scope, ambition, and thematic relevance, few MCU films surpass Captain America: Civil War. The film is a turning point for Rogers' characterization, eventually leading him to abandon his idealistic and somewhat naive persona and adopt a more cynical but no less hopeful approach to heroism. The film is also pivotal to the Avengers, effectively disbanding them and setting the stage for the Infinity War against Thanos. Civil war is also among the MCU entries that best combines narrative coherence with fan service, featuring several characters and featuring one of the franchise's most famous fight scenes.
