Anderson Silva’s iconic kick replicated in 12-second knockout of the year contender

A Brazilian mixed martial artist delivered a spectacular knockout that brought to mind the famous highlight reel finishes of Anderson Silva.

Throughout his celebrated career, Silva competed against legendary opponents and created some of the most memorable moments in the history of the UFC.

While he occasionally drew criticism, when `The Spider` was performing at his peak, he embodied the “art” in mixed martial arts, standing out as one of the most dangerous and skilled strikers ever to enter the Octagon.

Perhaps the most unforgettable of his many knockouts occurred in the final moments of his middleweight title defense against fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort.

At UFC 126, Silva landed a decisive front kick to Belfort`s face, securing the win. Now, a promising Brazilian fighter has reproduced this signature finish in a remarkably quick 12 seconds.

Aline David Channels Anderson Silva with Devastating Front Kick Knockout at LFA 208

Competing in the strawweight division of LFA, Aline David had already established herself as a fighter worth watching, but her performance on May 9 propelled her reputation to a new level.

Last year, the Brazilian athlete garnered attention by winning the promotion`s 2024 Fight of the Year award in her LFA debut. She defeated Grace DiFrancesco via split decision in a tough contest where both fighters were dropped.

The 27-year-old David aimed for her first consecutive wins heading into LFA 208 in Santa Cruz, California, where she was scheduled to face American fighter Stephanie Nayen, who held a professional record of 2-1.

Although her previous victory was a first-round submission, David`s striking prowess was the highlight of this bout.

Just 12 seconds into the fight, David might have already secured herself another LFA award for 2025, this time for an astonishing knockout.

The fighters were still in the initial stage of sizing each other up when David launched a straight front kick. The strike connected perfectly with her opponent`s face, sending her reeling backward towards the cage.

Much like when Anderson Silva famously finished Vitor Belfort, David followed up with ground strikes to ensure the referee stopped the fight, earning the fastest win of her career to date.

Predictably, her dominant performance resulted in her receiving one of the evening`s `Performance of the Night` bonuses.

Beyond David: Other Standout Performances at LFA 208 on May 9

Before UFC 315 took place in Montreal on May 10, LFA 208 kicked off the fight weekend with several impressive moments from the Kaiser Permanente Arena.

LFA is consistently a promotion to watch for emerging talent, and LFA 208 featured several exciting prospects delivering impactful performances.

Another notable Brazilian on the card was Luis Francischinelli, who maintained his perfect record, moving to 5-0 with all victories coming by way of knockout.

Standing exceptionally tall for the welterweight division at 6`6″, Francischinelli delivered another devastating performance that will surely put him on the radar of the UFC.
