No one ruled New York fashion at the turn of the millennium quite like Anna Sui. The prolific designer put on some of the most memorable fashion shows of the '90s, with top models like Naomi Campbell strutting their stuff in Sui's whimsical and ultra-feminine designs. Now, her fans can enjoy the fun of her prime thanks to her latest collaboration with Heaven by Marc Jacobs. Jacobs and Sui go back years and years, and in honor of Marc Jacobs' 40th birthday he's enlisted a small army of collaborators to help celebrate, Sui included. The resulting 10-piece capsule is a marriage of Anna Sui and Heaven's aesthetics.
Heaven has been incredibly successful at combining the early 2000s style popularized by both Jacobs and Sui, so this collaboration makes sense on a number of levels. Both brands reflected on their signature aesthetics, which range from florals, bright colors and cropped tees to cozy fabrics and leggy skirts. She's a school girl, a little punk, and definitely hot. The collection features two baby t-shirts, here reworked with a mix of Sui and Heaven logos in pink and white. On the other hand, a darling lilac knotted top and a delicate lace-detailed bustier are headed to the club this summer, and the matching underwear set pictured above is great for busting out and wear it with jeans, or together for a sexy summer statement.
The pieces of resistance, however, are the accessories, which are quirky and make a statement without breaking the bank. A blue knitted beanie features rosettes on the ear covers, and chunky butterfly earrings have purple and blue flowers dripping from silver chains, ready to catch strobe lights on the dance floor. But the show is the dazzled devil's ear headband that's campy, maximalist, and unafraid to scare some people. This bold collection is not for the faint of heart, and is available in very limited quantities. If you want to be the devil of the party this summer, don't hesitate.
