The music world has suffered a tragic loss.
Emily Goldberg—who previously dated a deceased musician Avicii—died suddenly on April 3 in La Jolla, Calif., according to his online obituary. She was 34 years old.
His cause of death was a pulmonary embolism, which usually occurs when a blood clot sticks to the arteries in the lungs, according to the Mayo Clinic.
“Emily was a vivacious and unique person who had many adventures in her too short life,” the obituary said. “She had a passion for art and photography and played cello in various orchestras, chamber groups and the San Diego Youth Symphony.”
She was a lover of art, especially artists Louise Bourgeois i Cindy Sherman—and a dog lover who adored her pups Bear and Kuma.
Before his death, Goldberg had battled cancer for a year before sharing that he was cancer-free in May 2023.
In 2018, the event planner suffered a devastating tragedy when Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) died in an apparent suicide at the age of 28.
