from Sony Bad Boys: Ride or Die has given the industry reason to celebrate this weekend, after a deeply troubling past few weeks where the big summer titles seemed to underperform. The fourth installment of the now vintage action-comedy franchise opened to stellar numbers both domestically and globally, solidifying star. Will Smiththe appeal despite what appeared to be a career-ending scandal a couple of years ago. Also starring Martin Llorenç, Bad Boys: Ride or Die is Smith's first theatrical release since the incident; previously starred in the Apple TV+ drama emancipation.


Driven by dynamics Adil El Arbi i Bilal Fallah, Bad Boys: Ride or Die grossed $56 million domestically and an additional $48 million from foreign markets in its first three days of release, for a cumulative global debut of $104 million. This is one of the biggest openings of the year and a much-needed boost to a market that has been struggling this summer with major failures such as The Fall Guy i Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. In comparison, the third installment in the franchise: Bad boys for life – grossed $62 million domestically and an almost identical number worldwide in its opening weekend of 2020.

Also directed by Adil & Bilall, The bad boys 3 grossed more than $425 million worldwide in its theatrical run, which thankfully was coming to an end when the pandemic changed the industry forever.
