While the discourse of sundresses makes us argue about who the skimpy dresses are really since Anne Hathaway recently wore a red carpet look you'll want to make all your own. And now you can, like the idea of you The star's white cotton Gap dress is now available for pre-order.
Designed by creative director Zac Posen, the white 100% cotton poplin tee, as it's officially called, retails for $158 and is available in sizes 00 to 16. Although you can only order it online (and wait set to ship in July), the The rest of the brand's collection of classic summer whites will be available to shop from tomorrow.
On the actress, the dress was unbuttoned to reveal a white corset (not included) and create an asymmetric neckline. It also opened from the hip down to create a dramatic slit. By “adding feminine touches with brush strokes at the waist,” Posen says in a press release, “we've created a modern look that pays homage to the elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.” Hathaway's stylist Erin Walsh further explained on Instagram that the look is all about “deconstructed elegance,” adding that “it's a little risky to wear a white shirt to a gala. But somehow it was absolute perfection.” Walsh completed the look with white Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps (and plenty of Bulgari jewelry).
Posen's other recent red carpet offerings have been spectacular. In May, she styled a denim masterpiece for Da'Vine Joy Randolph's Met Gala debut that featured a dramatic, vintage train neckline that was more than worthy of the Chopard jewels it paired with.
