Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer reacts to Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis
Charles Spencer and his wife Karen Spencer they go their separate ways.
Earl Spencer, the brother of the deceased Princess Diana— announced that he and the Countess of Spencer are divorcing after 13 years of marriage.
“It's immensely sad,” Charles said The Sunday Mail in a statement published on June 8. “I just want to dedicate myself to all my children and my grandchildren, and I wish Karen every happiness in the future.”
The former couple married in June 2011 at Althorp Estate, the Spencer family home in Northamptonshire, England, where Princess Diana is buried. The following year, Charles and Karen welcomed their daughter Lady Charlotte Diana Spencerwhose middle name honors his sister.
The author is also his father Lady Kitty Spencer, Lady Eliza Spencer, Lady Amelia Spencer i Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp—whom he shares with his first wife Victoria Lockwood—as also in Honorable Edmund Spencer i Lady Lara Spencerwhom he took in with his second wife Caroline Freud.
