Put on your cowboy hats and cowboy boots before you hit the club – cheat codes have gone viral.
The musical trio released One Night in Nashville , a remixed 15-song love letter to Tennessee (and Las Vegas, if bandmates Trevor Dahl, Matthew Russell and KEVI have anything to say).
“I've always liked country music. I've always loved how they write songs to tell stories and it's so unlike any other genre. It's so quirky and you can really imagine what's going on in each song. In this regard, it is unique, – tells Dahl about the history of the genre.
For Russell, an annual summer trip to Branson, Missouri, to see Dolly Parton's horse show at the Dixie Stampede introduced him to country music, which he now "comes full circle" with the recording of one of Parton's albums. s song "bet with us".
“[When] we started this project and got down to what we wanted to do, we had a list of names of people we wanted to work with, and Dolly was at the top of that list. She is the queen of the country," says Dahl.

“And to put his stamp on that song and put it on the album is a huge compliment from him. It really means a lot. And it's a crazy situation: I would have done it when I was a kid. "I never thought we'd have a song with this epic," he added.
Love for Dolly is also relevant for KEVI, who says he "grew up in the music business" while his family played in various bands, and his father, a longtime Dolly fan, "turns it down" with "You Bet on Us." ".
For her part, the country queen sent Russell a birthday cake following the song's release earlier this month.

"I don't want to blow up his apartment, you know what I mean?" Russell joked when asked about his personal dessert. "It's more like a birthday cake for a song."
The One Night In Nashville playlist is a who's who of country stars, old and new, young and old, including Little Big Town bandmate who signed on to perform Cheat Codes' "Never Love You Again" with Bryn to make Christopher's version. to sing, and one of the DJs fell in love with Nashville almost immediately.
“KEVI spent time in Nashville and uploaded it. He went to Kid Rocks bar and then he bought a truck a year and a half ago and we never thought he would buy a truck. And it all started with cowboy hats,” Russell describes to his friend, who was influenced by the classic works of Travis Barker and Shania Twain.

KEVY laughs.
“I love Shania Twain! I'm really trying to see her at the Hollywood Bowl. She will play here in a few months," he says.
How did KEVI become a country singer? Russell added: "We were like, 'What's wrong with you bro?' And he said, "Oh man, I spent that night in Nashville. Now I'm done with everything."
Shortly after working with Little Big Town came the opportunity to collaborate with Lee Bryce and Lindsay Ell on How Do You Love, and then, two songs in and a growing Nashville Rolodex, all that was left was that the cheat codes stuck. .

In fact, KEVI's rural literature is central to the album, if not part of the inspiration. If fellow punk and pop rock band Cheat Codes could buy a truck and rev it up on an old dirt road, why not everyone else?
“That's how we created 'One Night in Nashville,' because I think it changed our mindset. If you see country music and you don't understand the lifestyle, I feel like you do.'' full range of images and music. These songs are so beautiful and reach an emotional level that is different from other genres of music,” explains Russell.
“It's just a small world and you're working with an artist and you're like, 'Hey, what happened to that record? What happened to this record?" And then they start sending things back and forth, and before you know it, “Oh, we've got 15 demos. Beautiful. Let's make an album," he added.

"One Night Left" is working really well, Russell says, repeating to his bandmates.
"We got it tonight, you gotta experience it," Dahl added of the song's specific subject matter. ("One Night Left" with rising country star Mackenzie Porter.)
A country music icon who didn't shoot in one night in Nashville ?
Urban Keith.
"That was so close! Something about the programming. I don't know exactly what happened, but Keith, if you're there, we know you're listening. Next time!", Dahl said.
Coincidentally, Urban is also gearing up for a Las Vegas residency starting in March. The boys wake up with this message.

"Come on. We're going to rock it right there in Vegas," Dahl said with a smile.
The beauty of the new album, the band concludes, is the unexpected: Keith Urban headed to Las Vegas, maybe Cheat Codes headed to Nashville. Unexpected, but welcome.
