Christina Applegate Details “Fatalistic” Depression Amid MS Battle

“I did the, you know, TV thing,” explained Christina, who was nominated for best lead actress in a comedy at the ceremony. “That was like the hardest day of my life. It started at 11 in the morning and I didn't get home until 9:30. I think I slept two days straight. I couldn't even function.”

And while Christina received encouraging words of wisdom from Jamie-Lynn, who has been battling MS for more than 20 years, she noted that the only thing she's been able to devote her energy to is looking after her 11 year old son.

“I'm like giving up,” she lamented. “You know me. I'm just like, 'Well, you know this is it.' I'll just lay in bed and sleep all the time and when my daughter needs me, I'll be there for her and me. I'll do anything for her.”

The presenter The actress also noted that even though she had an appointment with a therapist, she was worried that the “combinations” would open and she wouldn't be able to close them again. However, Jamie-Lynn pulled back.

“I see more light in this process for you,” he encouraged. “I can't let you give up. I can't do it. I need you to.”
