Clint Eastwood’s ‘Juror No. 2’


Clint Eastwood, to put it bluntly, is a living legend. Although approaching his 93rd birthday, the four-time Academy Award winner is still making movies and probably plans to continue doing so until he physically can't anymore. Who's Gonna Stop Her has directed two Best Picture winners unforgivable i Million Dollar Baby, has directed 41 films, worked with several generations of Hollywood's top talent, and is arguably the most iconic cinematic cowboy ever to grace the silver screen. Now, Eastwood is looking to return to the big screen with Juror number 2 which is rumored to be the last film of his legendary career.

'Jury no. 2' has a release date?

There is currently no set date for when Juror number 2 will hit the big screen. The film was announced in April 2023, and filming was interrupted by the SAG-AFTRA Strikes. However, there is a good chance that this Juror number 2 will be released in the second half of 2024. Partly due to Eastwood's famous (or famous (or infamous depending on who you ask)) directing style that he usually only shoots one take of his scenes. Now he has put himself in the position of trying to save the accused at trial without incriminating himself by doing anything that would reveal that he is guilty.

Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette will star Juror number 2.

Nicholas Hoult will play Justin Kemp, the title role Juror number 2, which marks his first time working with the seasoned filmmaker. Toni Collette will be reunited with her about a boy co-star Juror number 2, which also marks his first collaboration with Eastwood. She will play the district attorney in the film. Collette first broke out playing the lead role in the musical comedy Muriel's wedding. In 2000, she received her first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Lynn Sear in The sixth sense. They are joined by other key cast members Juror number 2 to include Zoey Deutsch (Set it up) as Justin Kemp's wife, Kiefer Sutherland (24) as Kemp's AA sponsor, i Chris Messina (air) as public defender, Leslie Bibb (iron man) and Academy Award winner JK Simmons (cervical spine) will play the members of the jury. As with Hoult and Collette, this will mark the first time Eastwood has worked with all five actors. Although Eastwood starred opposite Sutherland's father, Donald Sutherlandin the 1970 film Kelly's Heroes.

Eastwood needs no introduction, he initially started out as an actor and became a cultural icon for his role as The Man with No Name in Sergio Leone's dollars Trilogy. His other iconic role is that of San Francisco police officer Harry Callahan in the dirty harry series of films. Eastwood made his directorial debut in 1971 with the psychological thriller Play Misty for Mewho also starred alongside Jessica Walter i Donna Mills. It has won a total of four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director unforgivableand won these same two awards 12 years later for Million Dollar Baby. He has received seven additional nominations, including Best Actor unforgivable i Million Dollar BabyBest image for Mystic River, Letters from Iwo Jimai American Sniperand Best Director for Letters from Iwo Jima.

After Macho cry was a critical and financial disappointment for Warner Bros., the company's new CEO, David Zaslav, seemed uninterested in working with Eastwood on another film, stating that “We don't owe anybody any favors,” after to be told by several executives that he has never delivered a film late or over budget. Fortunately, he seems to have changed his mind since then.

The script of the film is written by a first-time screenwriter Jonathan Abrams. Adam Goodman (dune), Matt Skiena (The Lego Movie), Tim Moore (Sully), i Jessica Meier (Richard Jewell) will serve as producers of the film. Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (The maze runner) i Jeremy Bell (Escape plan) are the executive producers of the film.

When and where is filmed 'Jurat No. 2'?

Filming for Juror number 2 began in Savannah, Georgia in June 2023, with additional photography in Los Angeles. However, filming was suspended in July 2023, due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Filming resumed in November 2023, after the strike ended.

In April 2024, it was revealed that Eastwood had finished post-production on the film, with WB executives “thrilled” with what they had seen.
