Dakota Jonson-led ‘AM I OK?’ Finally Gets a Trailer & Release Date at Max

Later in life, queers rejoice! Okay, this is actually a win for everyone in the community as a famous writer Lauren Pomerantzthe first feature film in production, I AM OK? The script marks Pomernatz's first foray into film, having previously worked in the writers' room for titles such as The Ellen Degeneres show, Saturday night live, community, and more. Joining forces with the co-directors, Tig Notaro (Your place or mine) i Stephanie Allynne (The L word: Generation Q), uses Pomerantz I AM OK? as a platform to share every bit of her experience of coming out as a queer woman later in life, giving voice to the good, the bad and the downright laughable.


Tapping a roster of top-tier talent to bring his semi-autobiographical production out of the closet, the movie stars penned by Pomerantz Dakota Johnson (Madame Web), Sonoya Mizuno (House of the Dragon), i Molly Gordon (The bear), with a support set that includes Jermaine Fowler (The blackening), Sean Hayes (Will & Grace), i Kiersey Clemons (the flash).

In the new trailer, Johnson plays Lucy, a 32-year-old woman living in Los Angeles who is tired of the dating scene. While, at first, it seems the well has run dry on eligible bachelors, once Lucy digs deeper into herself, she realizes that the problem has been right in front of her all along. It's not that these men suck (although that can also be completely true), it's that she is a lesbian. Ready to take the bull by the horns and fully embrace her strangeness, Lucy turns to her best friend, Jane (Mizuno) for help while she turn the page for this exciting and terrifying next chapter in his life



'I am OK?' Wowed The Crowds at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival

More than two years have passed since then I AM OK? celebrated its world premiere in the year Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, making his arrival at Max very late. The film was a favorite of the event, with Collider's Ross Bonaimegiving it a glowing review. As well as being a story about one woman's journey to better understand herself, Bonaime wrote that it is “also a lovely story about friendship”, with Jane and Lucy's bond growing stronger than ever after Lucy shows up with her close friend. He also wrote that the supporting cast deliver stellar and demanding performances and that, in what will come as a surprise to absolutely no one, Notaro and Allynne's vision behind the camera imbues the production with an extra touch of hilarity.
