Dillian Whyte Set for Boxing Return Next Month

British boxer Dillian Whyte is scheduled to return to the ring next month. This follows his recovery from a serious finger injury, which led to the cancellation of his planned bout against Joe Joyce.

Whyte had been set to face Joyce in Manchester last month. However, he had to withdraw from the contest after sustaining the severe injury during a training session.

The fighter, known as the `Body Snatcher`, will make his comeback appearance on the fight card featuring Fabio Wardley`s WBA interim title clash against Justis Huni. The event is set to take place at Portman Road on June 7th.

Whyte`s last competitive fight was in December, where he secured a seventh-round stoppage victory over Ebenezer Tetteh. He had been looking to make a statement against Joyce, who subsequently fought and lost on points to Filip Hrgovic after Whyte pulled out.

Earlier this year, Whyte was mentioned as a potential opponent for Anthony Joshua. Commenting on the possibility, Whyte stated that a fight against his long-time rival would be a “perfect opponent” for him.

Beyond his own career, Whyte has also served as a mentor to Fabio Wardley. Wardley`s upcoming fight against Australia`s Huni is significant, as the winner is expected to earn a shot at the full WBA heavyweight championship belt, currently held by Kubrat Pulev.
