Eddie Hall Felt ‘Anorexic’ Despite 334lb Frame for Pudzianowski KO

Despite weighing a massive 334 pounds (approximately 151.5 kg) for his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut last month, strongman Eddie Hall surprisingly stated he felt `anorexic`.

Hall, who won the World`s Strongest Man title in 2017, secured a brutal 30-second knockout victory over five-time champion Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 in Poland. At the weigh-ins the day before, Hall held a significant weight advantage, scaling in around 67 pounds (approx. 30 kg) heavier than Pudzianowski, a difference highlighting Hall`s own considerable weight reduction leading up to the fight.

While 334 pounds is exceptionally heavy for a 6`2″ individual, this weight actually represents a loss of over 100 pounds (approx. 45 kg) compared to Hall`s peak strongman weight. During his strongman career, where he set a world record by lifting over 1,000 pounds (454 kg), he weighed approximately 440 pounds (200 kg).

Eddie Hall Discusses Weight Loss and Future Plans After KO Win

Following his successful MMA debut and KO victory at KSW 105, Eddie Hall discussed his future plans in a YouTube video. He mentioned that his next potential fight could take place in November or December and also listed some possible opponents.

Hall indicated that his immediate focus would be returning to the gym to regain muscle mass, as he hadn`t lifted weights for ten weeks leading up to the fight. He explained, “I`m actually going to get back in the gym… I want to get some muscles back on me because I`m feeling a bit anorexic.” He also mentioned an arm wrestling match against Robert Oburst at the Shaw Classic in mid-August, which will involve training and bulking up.

Looking further ahead, Hall is considering two paths: securing another fight in November or December, or using the muscle gained from arm wrestling training to prepare for a bodybuilding show. The final decision, he noted, depends on receiving a suitable offer from a fight promotion.

Eddie Hall Used Carnivore Diet for MMA Weight Cut

In a pre-fight exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Hall disclosed that he adopted a carnivore diet during his training camp to manage his weight. This diet consisted solely of meat, eggs, and dairy, prioritizing protein over fruit to maintain strength.

Hall praised the diet, stating, “It`s been a pretty good diet. It helped me to maintain all of my muscle mass and I`ve dropped body fat. My energy levels are through the roof, my endurance is insane…” He added that he ate unrestricted amounts of meat, eggs, and dairy. He detailed his weight loss during preparation, dropping from 170 kg (approx. 375 lb) to 158 kg (approx. 348 lb), and aimed for a fighting weight of around 155-156 kg (approx. 342-344 lb).

Hall emphasized that his training focus was fitness and recovery rather than just weight, confirming he could perform four-minute rounds and recover quickly. He concluded he had no plans for excessive weight loss as his cardiovascular fitness was sufficient.
