Price, 33, is first assistant district attorney for the Milam County DA’s Office under longtime DA Bill Torrey, who is set to retire at year’s end. Price began working as an assistant district attorney in the office in 2016 after getting his law degree. He returned there after a stint as a felony prosecutor in the McLennan County DA’s Office from 2019 to 2021.

Price, who is running as a Republican, said in an announcement that he has prosecuted thousands of cases during his career and has handled civil matters for Milam County and advised that county’s commissioners court.

Price earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received his law degree from Baylor Law School, where he was associate editor of Baylor Law Review. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Computer Forensic Institute.

In the statement, Price said that he is dedicated to serving Milam County if he were to be elected.

“While I know that serving as Milam County District Attorney is a full-time job and then some, the long hours are worth it to see justice done,” he said in the statement. “I’m deeply committed to helping crime victims, and ensuring that people are treated justly. I’ve never been shy about taking on a challenge or burning the midnight oil, and I plan to bring a fresh vision and make some changes in how things are done at the DA’s Office.”
