The highly-anticipated third season of Netflix's hit romantic period drama Bridgerton is almost here, airing today (May 16), and fans of the series can now enjoy not only the romantic intrigues they break the bodice, opulent gowns, glamorous balls and lavish sets of the Regency era, but also plan a trip to discover the locations in Britain where the hit series was filmed.

Although this whimsical Shonda Rhimes drama, based on Julia Quinn's best-selling romance series, “is set in the competitive world of Regency London during the season when debutantes appear at court,” Netflix explains, “the shooting extended far beyond its borders”.

Season 3 focuses on the romance between Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan).

Ranger's House, Greenwich, London

The London outhouse of the Bridgerton family (said to be in Grosvenor Square, Mayfair) is in fact the elegant Ranger's House, located west of Greenwich Park. south east london.

The Georgian mansion, with cherry blossoms framing the avenue leading up to it and a beautiful wisteria adorning the front of the building, is an art museum run by English Heritage and houses a collection of world-class, including medieval sculptures, ornate jewelry and French tapestries.

Hampton Court Palace, East Moseley, London

Hampton Court Palace is a red brick Tudor palace and impeccably decorated garden that has been used for both Buckingham and St James's Palace in the series. It also appears in the third season as the location of a ball.

Lancaster House, Westminster, London

Close to Buckingham Palace, in the heart of the shopping district, in the St James's district, Lancaster House is next to Green Park, next to Clarence House and St James's Palace. This mansion serves in the series as the lair where Queen Charlotte does most of her machinations and includes her drawing room, drawing room and jewelry room.

The third season returns to Bath, the city made famous by Jane Austen. The Royal Crescent provides the backdrop for Mayfair and the home of the Featheringtons, whose members include Eloise Bridgerton's best friend Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).

This impressive landmark forms a crescent of 30 Grade 1 listed terraced houses and is hailed as one of the UK's most important examples of Georgian architecture.

Lady Danbury's home is, in real life, the Holburne Museum. Situated at N.1 Royal Crescent, it is a superbly restored terraced house which has been decorated and furnished as it would have looked during the period 1776-1796.

This Grade I listed building is Bath's first public art gallery, with over 10,000 objects, including works by Thomas Gainsborough and George Stubbs. Built in 1796, it became a lodging house before being transformed into a museum in 1916.

Castle Howard, York, North Yorkshire

Replacing the fictional Clyvedon Castle, it is the actual residence of the Duke of Hastings in the series and where Simon and Daphne move after their wedding.

Castle Howard, in the heart of Yorkshire, is a Baroque stately home with symmetrical wings and a crowning dome that took over 100 years to complete. The surrounding parks are equally grand, with temples, lakes, fountains and plenty of forest walks to discover.

Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

This famous location, made famous by Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton story, another Netflix series, debuts in Season 3 of Bridgerton.
