'FBI Most Wanted' - Julian McMahon Had No Idea How Big the Audience Would Be

Procedural shows are perennial with audiences, and there's a reason for that. One of these shows, FBI: Most Wanted, focuses on the Fugitive Task Force as they track down and arrest some of the country's most dangerous and elusive criminals. Each episode typically follows the team as they investigate, pursue, and ultimately capture or neutralize high-profile fugitives, often dealing with complex and dangerous situations. Julian McMahon he played special agent Jess LaCroix FBI: Most Wantedone of the best examples of these procedures.

LaCroix is a seasoned and expert tracker who leads the Fugitive Task Force, an elite unit that relentlessly pursues and captures notorious criminals on the FBI's Most Wanted List. While promoting his latest film, the surferin Cannes, McMahon took a moment to chat with Collider's Steve Weintraub about your time FBI: Most Wanted.

When asked about the popularity of American shows like F.B.I i CSI, McMahon admitted that he was not fully aware of the show's massive audience before joining. “I guess I didn't know the audience before I went in, so I wasn't really judging it against anything else,” he confessed.

“First of all, I had a great experience because

it was the show that I did, and it was a bit of a night show. I think it showed up at 10 or something. We had this ability to be a little bit exploratory with it because there are parameters that you work with with this kind of show.”

'FBI: Most Wanted' offered unique opportunities

Recognition of the procedural character of FBI: Most Wanted, McMahon appreciated the unique opportunities offered by the time slot and writing. “Yeah, and so I knew that going in. But because of our particular time slot and the way we were written, we had this ability to express ourselves and explore in a little bit of a different way, and I thought it was really cool.”

McMahon emphasized the dynamic energy of the show, driven by its “Most Wanted” premise. “The whole theme of the show and the pace of it and everything else was also really good because it is The most wanted, so you're looking for someone specific in each episode. She has this kind of energy that runs through her. It might seem like that kind of thing gets a little mundane, but when you're actually doing something that feels completely different every episode, it's not.”

Reflecting on the show's format, McMahon emphasized how each episode felt different despite the procedural framework. “So everything was interesting for you as an actor. Although it is similar in type of procedure, it is completely different. The experience of each episode was enjoyable and I had a lot of fun working on it and we had a great cast and crew. It was a great experience.”
