An FC Barcelona fan has been caught racially abusing Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. in El Clasico, as shown in a video clip shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by MARCA journalist Victor Boni.

Madrid won a La Liga edition of the world’s biggest derby 2-1 thanks to a second half double from man of the hour Jude Bellingham.

Though struggling to have as much of an impact as seen at Braga on Wednesday in the Champions League, where he provided a pair of assists for Rodrygo and Bellingham in another 2-1 win, Vinicius Jr. was still the protagonist in clashes with Barca manager Xavi Hernandez.

When substituted and provoking Barca fans in a packed Montjuic Stadium as he was substituted, his manager Carlo Ancelotti took Vinicius away by the hand.

Yet the Brazilian did not deserve racist abuse captured by Boni which has unfortunately become commonplace in stadiums around Spain.

As shown in Boni’s clip, a Barca fan whose face is turned away from the camera goes to great lengths to shout insults at the 23-year-old.

He can clearly be heard shouting “puta mono”, which from Spanish translates to “monkey b*tch”.

“Today I had the opportunity to witness the Clasico in situ, in Barcelona,” Boni captioned his video in Portuguese.

“However, the experience was somewhat tarnished by more racist attacks against Vinicius. One of them right behind where I was. I managed to record this video to publicize the face of this racist a**hole,” Boni added.

Though, as said, the fan’s face is not fully shown and there is only a partial view for a couple of seconds at the start of the upload.

The incident marks the second occasion that Vinicius has suffered racist abuse in a week.

Last Saturday at Sevilla, a young fan and man were both caught performing monkey gestures in his direction.

Vinicius praised the Andalusian club for acting swiftly and punishing the man, but lamented what he counted to be the 10th episode of racist abuse he has suffered after becoming aware of the child’s conduct.

“Unfortunately I have access to a video of another racist at this Saturday’s game, this time carried out by a child. So sad there is no one to educate her. I invest a lot in education in Brazil to train citizens with different attitudes,” he tweeted.

“The face of today’s racist is stamped on websites as like several other times. I hope Spanish authorities do their part and change legislation for once. These people need to be criminally punished too.

“It would be a great first step to prepare for 2030 World Cup. I am here to help. Sorry to sound repetitive, but it’s episode number 10. And counting…,” he signed off.

As of yet, Vinicius hasn’t responded to the incident at the Montjuic Stadium, which occurred during what proved to be his 150th victory in a Real Madrid shirt.
