While there are so many exciting horror movies coming out this summer, it's hard to argue that there are as many highly anticipated Long legs. The serial killer horror thriller Osgood Perkins It finally hits theaters this July after an incredibly terrifying and creative marketing campaign. Now, with just a few more weeks to go until the release of the film, tickets for Long legs have gone on sale.
While the short ten-second teaser accompanying the horribly exciting news consists mostly of older footage of the various Long legs trailers, there is a key new shot that looks like a porcelain mannequin with its head disturbingly blown off. This has been a recurring theme in horror thriller marketing. The construction up to Long legs is a reminder that less is more with lots of thick imagery/atmosphere that has been keeping even the most hardened horror fans up at night for months. That helps too Nicolas Cage he plays the deranged killer simply known to the public as “The Man Downstairs”. The little glimpses and sound bites we've gotten are relaxing, to say the least.
What is 'Longlegs'?
The plot of Longlegs will sound familiar to any veteran of the genre. Following Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), this new FBI agent has the difficult task of tracking down a serial killer tied to a handful of unsolved murders.. If that wasn't bad enough, as we go further down this web of blood-soaked messes, Harker is closer to this case than he realizes. On paper, this looks similar to the classics Silence of the lambs i Se7en. However, the cryptic images so far have shown that we haven't seen anything like this in the horror genre. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to fans who have seen Perkins' previous gems like The daughter of the black coat. However, even for the casual viewer, viewers already feel invested in this morbid case thanks to things like a website detailing the gruesome murders of The Man Downstairs and a number that will make you not want to go back to pick up a phone When you add Monroe and Cage to the mix, who have each had a rich legacy of horror over the past decade, and you have all the makings of the next scream-worthy blockbuster. With a marketing campaign for the ages, it will be interesting to see how Long legs at the box office
