New features in Google Chrome

In a blog post, Google unveiled five new features for Android and iOS devices. Offers more Chrome actions for local searches. When searching for queries related to local businesses, such as looking for a restaurant, users will now get three new options: call, directions and reviews. Google says this feature is already live on Android and will roll out to iOS later this year.

The address bar on tablets has also been redesigned in line with Google's Material You design language. When doing searches, the website will still be visible to the user in a new dropdown menu. Shortcut suggestions are also said to be improved by taking into account the user's typing habits. Google says it will now help them navigate to a website based on what they typically search for to get there.

Google has also brought trending searches to iOS, a feature that's been available on Android devices since 2023. Now users can just tap an empty address bar to see trending searches listed. If you select a trending search, other searches related to that topic will be displayed.

It also introduces live sports cards to the Discover channel. With this feature, users can get automatic updates and catch up on how their favorite sports teams are doing if they've searched for it in the past. Google says this feature can also be customized by navigating the three-dot menu.
