Part of going through Gypsy involved the launch of her Lifetime docuseries Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockdown (Monday, 9 p.m. EST), a follow-up to January The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
“I was like, I'm so tired of being labeled as the prisoner Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the girl who did this to her mother. I was so tired of the labels,” she noted of the inspiration behind making the original series. “And so, I wanted to come out and show the public who I am as a person and not a story, not a label, not this or that, but me. And because of that drive was why I wanted to make this documentary going forward. .. up”.
And while Gypsy has faced criticism online, she's trying to worry less about what they think and more about living life on her terms.
“I feel like I put my best foot forward with this,” he added. “And whatever the audience takes from it, I hope it's positive. And that's really all I can do.”
