“They're good men, good women, making a great band,” he said, gesturing to his fellow musicians on stage. “The singer, jessica [Dobson]and the keyboardist, patty [King]they shouldn't believe it [deepening his voice] “devilish lie” that women should be proud to take a back seat to their man.”

But he didn't “get the logic” of advising anyone, male or female, that they would benefit from giving up their dreams.
And, Vedder added, “there's nothing more masculine than a strong man supporting a strong woman, and quality people aren't afraid of equality.”
