Heidi Klum Is ‘Proud’ Of Controversial Lingerie Shoot With Daughter Leni Klum

Model Heidi Klum is insisting that she is proud of the lingerie shoot that she did with her daughter, Leni Klum, despite the amount of backlash they both received from the ad.

The 50-year-old model and her 19-year-old daughter posed in lacy lingerie for the Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi. The ads were even splashed across billboards in Germany to promote the brand. Although some fans thought that it was “weird” to see the mother and daughter posing together in their underwear, Heidi Klum is standing by the campaign.

Although fans slammed the mother and daughter duo for posing in lingerie together, the “America’s Got Talent” judge revealed that she is “proud” of her daughter and how “comfortable” she is in her own skin.

“It’s been fun to shoot together,” she told the Daily Mail. “To do photoshoots together with her and just to see how she’s just very comfortable and also comfortable around me even when we’re doing underwear shoots or something like that.”

“It makes me proud that my daughter is super comfortable in her skin also in front of me and around me because not every kid is in the world,” she continued. “So, I love that we have this beautiful relationship.”

She revealed that she and her mother, Erna, liked to belly dance together, so she doesn’t find posing in lingerie with her daughter awkward at all. “It was a very big thing in Germany. It was definitely a mom thing,” she said.

“Not so much kids, but I guess because my mom really didn’t have, we didn’t have a nanny or someone, so a lot of times she brought me along and I started belly dancing with my mom in the class,” she continued. “But I love dancing. I did all tap dancing, ballroom dancing, jazz dancing, everything. Yeah. So, I did belly dancing with my mom.”

Leni had previously opened up about the Intimissimi lingerie campaign in an October 2022 interview with People magazine. “My mom and I are just completely comfortable around each other and we were dancing around the whole day. That was what we had to do, and we do that anyway, so it just fit right. It was just such a fun day,” she said.

Although she has posed for several campaigns, she is now considering doing more runway modeling as the industry becomes more inclusive. “At the beginning, I didn’t even think of doing runway — and now I love it. I want to do more. I don’t think, and I never thought this, that you need to be a certain height or you need to look a certain way,” she said. “I don’t think there should be a certain standard, especially when it comes to height.”

“If you have a passion to do something, you should go for it. I’m 5-ft.-4-in., and I have a passion for modeling,” she continued. “Just like someone who is six foot who has a passion for modeling, we should both be able to follow our passion and do what we love, so I’m really glad that everything’s changing.”

Heidi shares Leni with 73-year-old billionaire Flavio Briatore. She later went on to marry, and divorce, Seal, although she shares 17-year-old Henry, 16-year-old Johan, and 13-year-old Lou with him. She married Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz in 2019, but the two share no children together.

Heidi admitted that she does not talk to her kids about her love life or give them any advice on dating and relationships. “I feel like I have not given them advice on love. No one has come to me and ask too much about advice,” she told the Daily Mail.

“To be honest with you, my daughter has a boyfriend, I want to say four years already, so who am I to give her advice? You know what I mean?” she asked. “So, I feel like she’s doing pretty good. She’s happy and that’s the most important thing. There’s nothing more sad than when you see your children sad. So I want it to stay that way.”

Although she won’t give advice on romance, she did recently share the modeling advice she gave Leni when she first started modeling.
