“In this movie, we didn't really look at each other, except maybe three or four times, because we were constantly fighting the elements. And I think that's what made it so electric as well… watching it, I guess the want. To connect, I guess it was a very clever setup, to separate people.
There may have been other people on that runaway bus, but Jack and Annie are pretty much in their own little world, supporting each other, cracking jokes to ease each other's stress, and smiling in the rare moments they make eye contact . This is much hotter and more shocking than any sex scene. More than once, Jack wraps his arms around Annie to protect her at a time when they might die. They suit each other very well and even have a scorching on-screen kiss, but the movie ends before they even have a date. speed it shows that they are very much together in the heat of the moment, but who would they be after finishing this intensity? We've been waiting thirty years to find out what happened next.
Joss Whedon tried (and failed) to get a screenplay credit for 'Speed'
No one seems to know who really deserves credit for Keanu Reeves' blockbuster.
Action movies have mostly fallen out of favor, but at 50, Keanu Reeves is the coolest action star alive because of John Wickand Sandra Bullock still owns the screen with movies like The Lost City. It's not often we see middle-aged couples in action movies without their age being a joke. In Speed 3it can only be two people, perhaps a married couple with a family, which further raises the stakes of a new adventure. Whatever happens, it will feel fresh because we never got to see Jack and Annie together. Besides, speed 3 would also show that not only Keanu Reeves could be the badass action hero. Yes speed proved anything, it's that Bullock's character was just as brave. Now imagine a middle-aged Jack and Annie joining forces to stop another villain, all while stopping to share a kiss or two. That would put asses on the seats!
