Jake Paul offers surprise backing for Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou UFC vs PFL ‘super-fight’

Jake Paul believes that a potential `superfight` between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou could serve as an ideal final bout for both fighters.

The prominent YouTuber-turned-boxer holds an investment in the PFL promotion, which Ngannou represents. Paul has expressed admiration for Jones over time, and Jones has proposed putting his UFC heavyweight championship on the line against Ngannou, his long-standing rival.

Ngannou has consistently shown interest in a fight with Jones. However, this matchup would necessitate an unprecedented collaboration between the UFC and PFL. While PFL is enthusiastic about the idea, securing agreement from UFC head Dana White appears to be a significant challenge.

Jake Paul Endorses Jon Jones` Challenge to Francis Ngannou

Recently, Jon Jones stirred controversy by seemingly dismissing a potential fight with Tom Aspinall to pursue a different opponent. He used social media platform X to challenge Francis Ngannou, who is considered the “lineal” UFC heavyweight champion despite having left the organization while holding the title.

This potential superfight, which both fighters have publicly desired since 2023, has reignited excitement among MMA fans following Jones` hint last night. The challenge came after coach Eric Nicksick hinted at Ngannou`s possible interest in returning to the UFC.

Jake Paul, who holds a minority stake in PFL, shared his opinion on social media, expressing strong support for the cross-promotion contest.

In a tweet regarding the potential matchup, Paul stated: “The perfect final dance for the two greatest MMA heavyweights of all time. Jon Jones wants it. Francis Ngannou wants it. Big fight for the sport. Big fight for the fans and Big business. Who doesn’t want it?”

Francis Ngannou Responds to Jon Jones` Challenge

Responding to Nicksick`s remarks, Jones posted a message last night saying: “I’m hearing Francis Ngannou is still interested… now we’re talking. That’s a real super fight. A clash of champions, not just hype. He held the UFC belt, I’ve defended mine for over a decade. Two kings from different roads. Not just one legend facing a mouth that’s hot right now, but two real legacies colliding. That’s the kind of fight that actually adds something special to my story. At least from my point of view.”

Ngannou acknowledged the promotional hurdles, stating to Jones: “You take care of the UFC, I’ll take care of the PFL, and we’ll finally find out who’s the KING OF THE HEAVYWEIGHT.”
