Kiefer Sutherland he is honoring his father's legendary career Donald Sutherland.
The beloved actor, who appeared in the hunger games franchise as well as M*A*S*H during his prolific career, he died at age 88, Kiefer confirmed on June 20.
“I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of cinema,” he said 24 the star captioned a childhood photo posted on Instagram. “Never bewildered by a role, good, bad or ugly.”
“He loved what he did and he did what he loved, and you can never ask for more than that,” Kiefer concluded. “A life well lived.”
According to Donald's agency CAA, he died in Miami “after a long illness.”
After sharing the news of his father's death, many fans and other stars sent well wishes to Kiefer, including the actor. Cary Elwes.
“Devastated,” the Princess Bride commented the star. “Our hearts are breaking for you. So grateful to have met and worked with him. We send you our love.”
