‘Kinds of Kindness’ Image — Emma Stone and Joe Alwyn Share a Moment

Among the highly anticipated movies coming out this year are Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone's upcoming collaboration, kind of kindness. The anthology film is gearing up for its upcoming Cannes Film Festival debut and has been releasing marketing materials to get fans excited. From a charming trailer to the intriguing bloody poster, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to tease the fans. Now, the first look of the film has been revealed on the Instagram page of the film which sees Emma Stone i Joe Alwyn sharing a moment While the picture doesn't conjure up a rosy picture, there are definitely sparks between their characters and it will be intriguing to see their chemistry in the upcoming film.

“Kinds of Kindness” tells three different stories

Described as a “triptych fable” Lanthimos has brought together three different tales in this anthology that marks his first contemporary feature since The killing of a sacred deer. The film follows a policeman who becomes alarmed after his wife missing at sea returns home looking like a different person; a man without a choice, trying to take control of his life and a woman determined to find a specific person with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.

Lanthimos previously described telling three different stories “with four or five actors playing a role in each story, so they're all playing three different parts. It was almost like making three movies, really.” The film reunites Lanthimos not only with frequent collaborator and Oscar winner Stone, but also with an Oscar-nominated screenwriter. Efthimis Filippouwho previously collaborated with the director of fame on a number of acclaimed projects such as The Favorite, hound's tooth, The lobster among others. The two have a penchant for telling stories with quirky and strong themes, which is also reflected in the first trailer that introduces fans to a fun and bright world with very relatable characters.

On the cast front, Kinds of Kindness has an ensemble unlike any other included Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie, i Hunter Schafer, among others. With compelling talents all around, kind of kindness it is sure to have good acting, writing and a grounded vision.
