Marvel’s Animated Series ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ Gets an Interesting Update

One of Marvel's most surprising but also most exciting spin-offs just got a nice update from the head of TV and streaming at Marvel Studios. While speaking on the official Marvel podcast, Brad Winderbaum opened up about several upcoming Marvel TV shows, including the animated series Eyes of Wakanda. The series will follow Wakandan warriors throughout history who have traveled the world in search of Vibranium artifacts with the goal of returning them to their rightful home. When asked about the Black Panther spin-off series, Winderbaum had this to say:

“The action is crazy and the storytelling is great. It's so much about the story of Wakanda, but it also expands into the larger MCU in different time periods.”

“Expands into the larger MCU in different time periods” it sure seems like it leaves the door open for a lot of potential cameos. Marvel's newest animated series, X-Men '97, features more than its fair share of crossovers with other Marvel characters like Daredevil, Spider-Man and more, and with Eyes of Wakanda set to venture across the globe and throughout history, it's impossible to rule anyone out . This won't be the first time Wakandan characters have appeared in animation either, as both T'Challa (voiced by the late Chadwick Boseman) and T'Chaka have appeared in several episodes of What if…? The voice cast for Eyes of Wakanda it has yet to be announced, however Black Panther director Ryan Coogler He is confirmed to be involved in the series, which bodes well considering both of them Black Panther the films have been very well received.

Marvel Studios TV looks a lot different now

When Marvel Studios started its TV department in 2021, it made a choice WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldieri Loki like the main projects. The MCU has certainly had some bumps in the road in recent years, but it's a promising sign that Winderbaum, Kevin Feigeand other executives are willing to change to right the ship.
