My oldest bent down to get something, put it on la My other daughter on my chest, my last daughter on my arm,” Dembowski said. “Laugh all the time. Then [stabbed] his friend and ran away. The two older girls chased him outside, then realized what was going on.”

An employee described the suspect as wearing “a large trench coat, sunglasses and a long blonde wig.” Police said the suspect fled the movie theater in a black SUV, but video footage allowed investigators to obtain a license plate number.

Dembowski praised the actions of first responders and medical personnel. She also said her older daughter acted quickly to keep the younger girls calm during a tense situation.

“It's happening more and more and it's making parents sick of taking their kids anywhere or letting them go anywhere without them. I absolutely feel that way,” said Dembowski, who is a school guidance counselor in Massachusetts. . “I hope he gets what he deserves. I understand mental health. I'm a counselor. I get it. I think he's a pretty sick person to hurt kids.”
