After his passing, Perry's Fools sign up Co-star Salma Hayek noted that it took a “couple of days to process that deep sadness.”
“There is a special bond that occurs when you share dreams with someone and together we work to achieve them,” she wrote in an Oct. 30 Instagram post. “I was so touched last year when Matthew shared on his Instagram stories how much he loved 'Fools Rush In' and how he thought that movie we did together was probably his best movie.”
“Over the years, he and I found ourselves looking back on that significant time in our lives with a deep sense of nostalgia and gratitude,” he continued. “My friend, you are gone too soon, but I will continue to love your silliness, your perseverance and your beautiful heart. Goodbye, sweet Matthew, we will never forget you.”
