MONSTER HIGH Live-Action Movie On the Way From Mattel and Universal

TV

The Mattel Cinematic Universe come back to life This time around, Mattel is bringing Monster High to the big screen with the help of Universal Pictures. The film will be produced by Akiva Goldsman. Of couse, if Mattel can do it with Barbie, why not with Monster High? The Monster High doll line presents “the phantasmagoric children of legendary monsters”, such as Dracula, Frankenstein and the Werewolf. We can see the potential here for a fun movie, or even maybe a horror movie, if Mattel were bold. We'll have to wait and see what the live-action Monster High movie brings us.

Mattel Film's Robbie Brenner notes, “Monster High helps fans discover the great beauty of being true to yourself and celebrates the unique sensibilities at the core of who we are as individuals. We are proud to partner with Universal Pictures and the brilliant Akiva Goldsman for bringing this important message to audiences around the world.”

A release about the film also shares from the Monster High brand, “First introduced in 2010, Monster High immediately became a beloved expansive universe rich with inclusive storytelling and doll play, fostering a fandom that spans generations. The brand continues to encourage fans of all ages to embrace their authentic selves and what makes them unique.”

We love this message. Currently, there is no writer, director, or cast attached to Mattel's live-action Monster High movie.
