Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz didn`t hold back his opinion regarding Logan Paul`s recent statements about potentially fighting his brother, Jake Paul, in mixed martial arts.
Logan and Jake Paul have significantly impacted the combat sports world in recent years through their ventures in boxing and wrestling. Logan has become a major personality in WWE, while Jake continues to pursue high-profile boxing matches.
Despite their focus on boxing and wrestling, both Paul brothers have hinted at potential moves into MMA. Jake Paul signed with the PFL in 2023 with plans for a professional MMA debut, but the timing remains uncertain due to his ongoing boxing career.
Earlier this year, the Pauls generated considerable buzz by teasing a potential boxing match between themselves with a dramatic social media video. However, this was later revealed to be a promotion for their reality series, putting the fight prospect on hold.
Nate Diaz Comments on Logan Paul`s Suggested MMA Fight with Jake Paul
Nate Diaz, a former UFC standout, has a history with the Paul brothers, notably his 2022 boxing match against Jake. Diaz lost his professional boxing debut against Jake by unanimous decision but later returned to boxing with a win over Jorge Masvidal last year.
While a boxing match between Logan and Jake seems unlikely for now, Logan hasn`t ruled out facing his brother in a different combat sport. On a recent episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast, Logan outlined the specific condition under which he would consider fighting Jake.
Regarding a potential fight with Jake, Logan stated, “Not unless it`s MMA.” He conceded that Jake would “definitely win [in boxing] at this point” because “He`s got a heavy hand.” Logan added the requirement for an “insane amount of money.”
Shortly after Diaz`s boxing loss to Jake, talks emerged about a possible MMA rematch between them. PFL co-founder Donn Davis publicly proposed a fight between Diaz and Jake in the PFL cage multiple times, but despite reportedly lucrative offers, the fight never materialized.
After Logan`s comments about a potential MMA fight with Jake circulated online, it didn`t take long for Nate Diaz to mock both brothers.
Diaz posted his reaction on X (formerly Twitter).
His explicit five-word message was: “I whoop both these p******.”
Diaz has hinted that he might return to the UFC Octagon for his next combat sports appearance. His last professional MMA fight was a victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279, a bout he took on short notice after Khamzat Chimaev missed weight for their originally scheduled fight.
As of this report, neither Logan nor Jake Paul have publicly responded to Diaz`s comment. Jake is scheduled to return to the boxing ring against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28th in Anaheim.
Jake Paul Eyes Superstar Opponent for MMA Debut, Claims `Nate Diaz is Ducking`
With Diaz`s future uncertain, Jake Paul hasn`t ruled out an MMA debut later this year against another major opponent. Jake has expressed interest in fighting boxing heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in the cage, following Usyk`s own recent hints about potentially competing in MMA.
Usyk is preparing for an anticipated heavyweight boxing rematch against Daniel Dubois later this year. This follows his back-to-back victories over Tyson Fury, which saw him unify the heavyweight championship belts.
Before the fight with Chavez Jr. was arranged, Jake also suggested a possible heavyweight boxing matchup against Anthony Joshua. Having been unable to secure a fight with Canelo Alvarez, Jake is exploring various other options for the remainder of the year.
