One of the biggest issues with new shows on streaming services is early cancellation. You spend a season or two investing in a story and its characters only to find it has unceremoniously gotten the ax. Sometimes the show doesn't even get a chance to come out before a streamer removes it from their list. We've seen this happen with many streamers, including Netflix. (I won't forgive them for canceling File 81.) But, fans of 3 Body problem you won't have this problem. Netflix has renewed 3 Body problem for season two and says it will give the show a currently undisclosed amount of seasons to complete the story.
In accordance with variety, creators David Benioff, DB Weiss and Alexander Woo said in a statement that they “will be able to tell this story to its epic conclusion.” Benioff has previously stated that it would take three or four seasons to tell the full story. The show draws its material from Liu Cixin's trilogy of novels, so perhaps the show will follow suit with three seasons. We'll just have to wait and see when Netflix follows up on this announcement.
