When it comes to popular franchises from the 80s, none are as iconic as A Nightmare on Elm Street. The series, which began with the 1984 slasher classic, made Freddy Krueger the face of the horror genre. nightmare this year celebrates its 40th anniversary and to celebrate, NECA has released two new Freddy Krueger sets that will keep horror fans awake at night.


As part of their “Halfway to Halloween” event, NECA debuted two new Freddy-centric sets. this Includes Freddy Furnace diorama and Freddy accessory set. The nine-inch-tall Furnace Diorama is screen-accurate, with a hinged door, a weather-resistant finish, and LED lights that flicker to emulate flames. This piece is scaled to perfectly fit NECA's previously released seven-inch collection of Freddy figures. Batteries for the oven are also included. As for the props set, this pack has plenty of signature nightmare imagery from the entire franchise.


This includes a 12-inch tall Freddy Worm and a Freddy TV The dream warriors, and both Elm Street Signs (the normal and Nightmare makeover versions). Freddy is sold separately, but NECA has made a handful of this slasher king of the last decade. The original, Freddy's Revengei Wes Craven's New Nightmare are just to name a few. They also released a Tooney Terror version of the character, which is a line of horror icons styled like Saturday morning cartoons.


The legacy of Freddy Krueger

It was the poster-killer of the genre for an entire generation of horror fans. Whether it's Craven's basic atmosphere, the realistic rendering of his horrific dreamscapes, or Heather LangenkampThe memorable Last Girl Nancy Thompson, Freddy hasn't left anyone's nightmares. The 40th anniversary has only drawn more attention to the lack of nightmare contents of the last decade. However, with the original immortal classic rumored to be coming to 4K later this year, perhaps 2024 will be the year a new sequel is announced. Ghostface, Leatherface, Michael Myers, and Chucky recently enjoyed the madness of the horror legacy. It was time for Freddy to join the crazy party.
