We were just getting used to saying “Disney+, Hulu and Max” streaming bundle. ten times fast But now there's a new intensive breeding pack to chew on. Comcast has announced a Peacock, Netflix, Apple TV+ streaming bundle coming soon. Presumably to compete with Warner Bros. and the Disney bundle though, isn't it just a matter of time until the streaming bundle of Peacock, Netflix, Apple TV+, and the streaming bundle of Disney+, Hulu, and Max are all merged into one bundle of… cable?
Comcast's package is leading with the important points thought out. Brian Roberts, CEO of Comcast pointed out, “These three products will be priced significantly below anything on the market today and will be available to all of our customers.” That means this new Peacock, Netflix and Apple TV+ streaming package will be available to all Comcast broadband, TV and mobile subscribers.
We also know that this Peacock, Netflix and Apple TV+ streaming bundle will be called StreamSaver. Comcast has not confirmed an exact price or release date for this streamer bundle. We'll have to wait and see what a “deeply reduced” price means. But with these two big-name packages juxtaposed against each other, it seems streaming is right back where it started. We don't yet know whether consumers will ultimately benefit or be harmed. But we can only cross our fingers that the streaming packages at least improve the current situation.
The recent comments from Warner Bros. Discovery said it didn't feel it needed any other streamers in its Hulu, Disney+, Max package. We guess that's why Netflix, Apple TV+ and Peacock felt they needed to make their own bundle. But can these streamers also be grouped together in new packs? We guess only time will tell.
All in all, we can't wait to see what the StreamSaver logo will be and how it will combine elements of Peacock, Netflix and Apple TV+.
