Australia have failed to qualify for the men's football tournament at the Paris Olympics after the Olyroos were held to a goalless draw by Qatar in their final group game of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup.
Australia pressed for much of the match and created a number of chances but, as in their previous games, they were unable to make those chances count.

To progress in the tournament and keep their Paris 2024 hopes alive, Australia needed to beat Qatar and then hope Jordan beat Indonesia on fewer goals in the day's other group match.
In the end, Indonesia's 4-1 goal in Jordan was of little consequence as the Olyroos failed to get on the scoresheet in Doha, drawing 0-0 with the hosts.
