One of the DCEU’s Last Movies Is Getting an Animated Sequel

The project is based on the events of last year's film, with the possibility of Xolo Maridueña returning as the hero in another tabletop live-action story. However, the future remains uncertain for the property, while the studio works on the new universe created by James Gunn i Peter Safran. Angel Manuel Sotowho directed last year's adventure about a recent college graduate who gains powers beyond his imagination, is attached to the new animated series as an executive producer. Cristian Martinezknown for his work on titles such as Women of the Movement i good problem, will serve as showrunner for the series. The report also says that Miguel Puga has been working on the title for a few months now, though details about the story's premise are still being kept under wraps. However, Jaime Reyes' journey now has a chance to continue, after the film disappointed by earning around $130 million at the worldwide box office.

But thanks to his sister, Milagro (Belissa Escobedo), gets a job at Kord Industries. His access to the company results in Jaime gaining powers from an ancient beetle. But Victoria Kord (Susan Sarandon) who wanted to take all the power for herself, was not happy that Jaime ran off with his prize. The narrative eventually had the Reyes family in danger amid Victoria's quest to retrieve the beetle.

Where does 'Blue Beetle' fit into the DCU?

Ever since it was announced that James Gunn and Peter Safran would be taking control of the DC Universe, creatives had been teasing that the stories would originate in DC Extended Universe it would no longer be canon. If the next blue beetle animated series leads to the return of Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, an explanation should be given as to whether last year's film is canon or not. Meanwhile, the new franchise will begin in December, when Creature commands is released Max. After that, Superman will fly into theaters next summer, introducing audiences to how the world created by Gunn and Safran will work.
