Mitchell Moses' frustration boiled over on Thursday night, with the Parramatta halfback sent to the bin in the 75th minute of the Eels' 32-16 loss against South Sydney.

What was originally ruled a penalty for holding down was turned into a professional foul after Moses refused to let go of Rabbitohs front-rower Jai Arrow and the Eels No.7 was subsequently sent to the bin.

Moses tried to argue with referee Liam Kennedy before Joe Ofahengaue dragged him off.

Interim Parramatta coach Trent Barrett said Moses' fuse was gone by the end of the game.

“He's frustrated at this point,” Barrett said. “He's probably frustrated with our performance tonight. The game was probably done and dusted at that stage, but it probably boiled over there at the end.”

Barrett said the team was his worst enemy at times.

“We probably got hurt a little bit in that one. We probably didn't handle the conditions well and we were probably guilty of trying to play a little too pretty at times. That was tough. We've got to scrape them off the floor and get back at it. . This is difficult.”

Parramatta have now lost four games in a row, and the team is likely to face the Titans next week without Moses, who is expected to be on Origin duty with NSW.

It's a different story for South Sydney, who are now on a five-game winning streak and just two points off the top eight.

Interim head coach Ben Hornby said he was pleased with the Rabbitohs' effort tonight.

“I think they [Eels] I had more possession, more yards, we kept going up, and we kept making big plays at big times,” Hornby said. “The effort was the nicest part, for sure.”

The Rabbitohs will play the Dolphins at Redcliff next week, with stars Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray likely to be out of NSW Origin duty.
