The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is extending its global reach by introducing a new league specifically for Australia and New Zealand.
This new league, named PFL Pacific, marks the next step in the promotion`s international expansion, building on the success of its European and Middle East & North Africa (MENA) tournaments launched in recent years. PFL is also preparing to launch PFL Africa this summer, featuring the return of fighter Dakota Ditcheva.
Following the African launch, attention will shift to this significant new tournament in Australia. It is planned to showcase emerging talent from a region renowned for producing world-class champions such as Israel Adesanya, Rob Wilkinson, and the recent champion Jack Della Maddalena.
PFL Pacific Confirmed for 2026 Launch
Since establishing its Global Season format and the subsequent World Tournament, PFL has consistently aimed to introduce its unique MMA structure to regional markets globally. This began with the first European tournament in 2023, followed by a second in 2024, and the launch of PFL MENA.
The immediate next step is PFL Africa, spearheaded by legendary heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, set to start in Cape Town on July 26th. Following this, it`s now officially confirmed that PFL`s expansion will continue in 2026 with the launch of PFL Pacific in Australia and New Zealand.
The introduction of this league is supported by a significant media partnership with Nine in Australia, ensuring widespread coverage across platforms including Stan Sport, 9Now, and the 9Network. The format will feature regional competitors participating in a knockout tournament held across four events next year.
