Police have arrested a 47-year-old man who has been charged with supplying and producing anabolic steroids and Class C drugs.

Another person has also been arrested, a 33-year-old woman who has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Acting Det Sgt Helen Morris said anabolic steroids were in a “legal gray area” between a medicine and a banned recreational drug.

“Stopping the manufacture of these drugs has removed a significant risk to the public,” he added.

A local resident who did not want to be named said he was shocked that a drug factory was located within minutes of where he lived.
