The notice said the claims were prejudicial and unfounded.
He also said making them about children was an aggravating factor that could result in any damages award exceeding the statutory cap of $459,000.
“Our clients are young, aware people who have not yet made a name for themselves in the world. His reputation[s] they've been seriously hurt by their prime minister through the state press before they've even had a chance to vote,” he said.
“This has caused them considerable pain, distress and anxiety.
“All things being equal, we can't imagine how the Premier would intend to make children feel this way.”
The notice said the children would drop the action if they received an apology from Cook both in writing and verbally at a news conference and an offer to pay the teenagers' nominal legal costs of $1.
The defamation threat is the latest escalation in the battle between activist group Disrupt Burrup Hub, Woodside and the WA Government as activists continue to protest Woodside's plans to expand its operations in WA's North West .
In a statement from the Disrupt Burrup Hub, Power said they protested at the AGM to protect children.
“I stood up for my future and appealed to Woodside bosses on behalf of their children, some of whom have children of their own,” they said.
“I was intimidated by the WA Premier threatening us with a police crackdown, which was a clear attempt to silence us on behalf of Woodside.”
Cook leaned back.
“I will always support people's right to peaceful protest, but it's never okay to bring someone's children into it, regardless of the cause,” he said.
“I won't spend any more time answering this.”
