Samsung Galaxy Ring Tipped to Bring Skin Temperature Measurement, Other Health Features

The Samsung Galaxy Ring was unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in February as the company's new wearable device category. However, the South Korean tech giant has only shown a few glimpses of its smart ring so far, but that is expected to change soon. The much-anticipated smart ring is expected to launch at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 with a host of bio-surveillance features. Ahead of its release, an APK teardown sheds light on several of them, including skin-based temperature measurement, snoring detection, and more.

Samsung Galaxy Ring health features

According to a report from Android Authority, Samsung's Health app is expected to support the health monitoring features coming with the Galaxy Ring. Although these features are not available to the public, they were enabled after a teardown of the Samsung Health app APK.

With the Galaxy Ring, users will be able to measure stress and heart rate. The Health app is also said to offer tracking of the aforementioned metrics through a graph. In addition, Samsung's smart ring will measure temperature through the skin and predict periods.

The report suggests that the Galaxy Ring may also bring snore detection, but it will only be accessible when using the smartphone as a companion. Most of these biomonitoring features are already available with the Galaxy Watch line, but the arrival of the Galaxy Ring may offer a more subtle way to track health for those who don't want to prefer wearing a smartwatch .

Other features of Galaxy Ring

The Galaxy Ring case was leaked last month and may have a jewelry box-like design with flat edges. It is said to have a raised circular section in the middle that will hold the smart wearable in place and may also have a charge indicator to show the ring's battery status, along with a charging pin.

While the case was rendered in a white color, the report suggests that it may also be available in more options. It is also recommended to support wireless charging. Another report states several size options, ranging from 5 to 12 and ring battery size may vary by size.
