If there's one person who knows how a Beyoncé cousin can change your life, it's Tanner Adell. The 27-year-old Kentucky transplant to Nashville was one of four black female country singers chosen by the pop star to sing harmonies. Cowboy Carterit's “Blackbird”. Since then, Adell has been more private than ever, touring the country doing photo shoots, going to the studio and embarking on a packed summer festival schedule that will lead her to the premiere destination of beach and music, Hangout Festival, on May 15. The new normal has taken some adjusting, but, he says, “it's been really nice to feel like I'm getting some recognition.”
The glamor and sassy edge of Adell's country music, heard in the EDM synths of her latest single “Whiskey Blues,” stems from her childhood listening to everything Keith Urban and, yes, Beyoncé. In a playlist exclusive to NYLON, he shares the songs that shaped him the most, including tracks by Miranda Lambert and Reba (duh). [Also] one of my favorite albums of 2024. Kacey mixes pop and folk somehow effortlessly.

“Fancy” walked so “Gunpowder” and “Lead” could run.

A real dirty line dance song, known in the line dance community as the ring on your wranglers dance.
