JACKSONVILE, FLA. – Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting on Old St. Augustine Road near Hood Road. Police say a 16-year-old boy is dead after a shooting at the Coopers Hawk Apartment Homes.
J-S-O says there was a very large party that happened at a different location nearby but the party moved to that apartment complex. Police say there was a fight that broke out between two groups when someone pulled out a gun and started shooting.
Police do not know if the teenager was intended target or was involved in the fight.
There were at least 10 shots fired. J-S-O is trying to find out if there was more than one shooter.
Police are interviewing about 7 people who are considered witnesses. Most of them are teenagers but there are a few adults being questioned also.
