The Biggest Changes Bridgerton Season 3 Made From the Books

News

What about Francesca Bridgerton?

Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) is, unfortunately, sometimes considered the forgotten Bridgerton boy, not because his family doesn't love him, but because—as he does on the show—the sixth Bridgerton brother prefers peace and quiet.

In the book series, it is casually mentioned that Francesca found her husband for seven years before we pick up with Penelope and Colin. However, executive producer Shonda Rhimes and the team have decided to combine part of the book plot lines with Francesca, Colin and Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) all looking for love in season three. This brings us to…

In the TV show, Francesca becomes Queen Charlotte (Golda Rocheuvel) “diamond” of the season and is wooed by the Queen's pick, Lord Samadani (David Mumeni), as well as by her favorite suitor, John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli). (Unfortunately, Queen Charlotte is not a character in the books, meaning the monarch, and her truly fantastic headpieces never anoint a “diamond” of any season.)

We will avoid more of the novel spoilers about Francesca, as there are likely to be many developments about her Bridgerton second part— But if you they are interested in spoilers, her story expands in Bridgerton's sixth book, When he was evil.
