The Dockers are doing so much right, so why isn’t it reflected on the scoreboard?

While control helped them post a lopsided record and helped territory, Waalitj Marawar's pressure and intent was another highlight.

Narrm actually had more tackles, but Waalitj Marawar's half-forward pressure was elite: 22 of his 59 tackles, almost 40 per cent, came inside the forward 50, three times as many as the average of the season. And he was a veteran leading the way.

Jack Darling had a game-high 12 tackles in his 287th game, 209 games after his only other double-figure return (10) a decade ago.

Two drives in the first 2 1/2 minutes of the third term resulted in goals from Waalitj Marawar, opening a four-goal margin.

The 31-year-old was richly rewarded for his efforts, with the three goals his best return of the season.

Walyalup are doing very well, except in front of goal

On Saturday, Walyalup (Fremantle) picked up an important win, their third road success of the season against Euro-Yroke (St Kilda).

It was never going to be a pretty, flowing, high-scoring game against Ross Lyon's men.

However, as the former Walyalup coach would say, “the trend is your friend”. It's a trend that Walyalup needs to rectify and quickly.

A half-hour horror show in front of the goals threatened to erase Walyalup's overall dominance of the contest, finishing with 9.18, a week after 4.15.

They ran off nine straight from midway through the third term, finding opportunity after opportunity.

With the scores tied at the final change, Walyalup bounced out of the blocks with the first seven inside 50s of the final term, scoring just three points, all from high-scoring shots.

The big breakthrough came from Josh Treacy, courtesy of a horrible turnover from Euro-Yroke after, ironically, a missed goal from Walyalup.

Surprisingly, it was young gun Jye Amiss who struggled more than most as his second quarter jitters became contagious.

Regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers and accurate shooters in the competition, Amiss's radar failed, and he finished with two goals in five backs.

Walyalup is doing very well.

Again, they clearly came out on top in the midfield battle and played the match on their own terms and in their own half, but could not see their superiority reflected on the scoreboard.

They will quickly need to straighten up ahead of a Friday night blockbuster against Collingwood.

The reigning champions have regained their composure, unbeaten in their last seven games.

They are a formidable opponent, and will make you pay if you don't take chances when they show up.
