We're still three months away from the release date of The Umbrella Academythe fourth and final season, which means there's no time like the present to finally get a trailer for the series' latest batch of episodes. Yesterday, Netflix teased fans with a poster for the show's return, and today the streamer has decided to unveil the first trailer for the Hargreeves' new adventure. The final season premieres on August 8.

The trailer for Season 4 promises some good old family shenanigans, the kind fans have come to know and love. The problem is, of course, the twist that changed the fates of all the Hargreeves. They are now in a separate timeline dictated by their late patriarch Reginald (Colm Feore), one in which they cannot rely on their powers to protect themselves and others. Even so, there are still people who want to exterminate the foundling family of (former?) superheroes.

This season will also welcome some new characters who are mysterious to say the least: Drs. Jean and Gene Thibedeau, played by a real-life husband and wife Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) i Nick Offerman (The last of us). For some reason, the professors at the community college are very interested in a VHS tape of one of Allison's (Emmy Raver-Lampman) movies, what's up with that? David Cross (Arrested development) will also join the new season.

He claimed that nothing in the series, including “Sparrow” Ben (Justin H. Min) on the subway — it happens by chance:

“Let's be clear: this is Sparrow Ben. The question you should really be asking yourself is what the hell is he doing on a Korean subway train reading a book about ceramics? Weird, right? Of course it is! Umbrella Academy. Like everything well'

the fan knows, no moment of the show exists in isolation. Everything we see makes sense. And this moment is no exception. Ben has a reason to be there…”

The distribution of The Umbrella Academy also features Elliot Page (Near You) like Vanya, Tom Hopper (Love in the Village) like Luther, Robert Sheehan (The last bus) as Klaus and Aidan Gallagher (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn) as five, David Castañeda like Diego, i Arya Rite like Lila The official synopsis for the season reads:

The Hargreeves brothers have scattered after the climactic showdown at Hotel Oblivion led to a complete reset of their timeline. Stripped of their powers, everyone is left to fend for themselves and find a new normal, with varying degrees of success. However, the trappings of his strange new world prove too difficult to ignore for long. His father Reginald, alive and well, has stepped out of the shadows and into the public eye, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire. A mysterious association known as The Keepers hold clandestine meetings believing that the reality they live in is a lie and that a great judgment is coming. As these strange new forces conspire around them, Umbrella Academy must come together one last time and risk upsetting the shaky peace they've endured so long to ensure they finally set things right.
